Welcome
This site commemorates the Marcenko family that emigrated to
North Dakota from Romania in 1900.
In North Dakota they established a homestead and lived there for seven years
before moving on to the Wood Mountain area of Saskatchewan in late 1907.
In Saskatchewan the family established another homestead, the children grew up,
married and established there own farms nearby. It was not until the late
thirties, after Stefan and Veronica had died, that a few family members began to
move out of South Saskatchewan.
To-day the family has spread across the continent and as far afield as
Australia.
